Natural Ways Regrow Your Hair

Hair loss or alopecia is caused by numerous factors. Some of them would be genetics, stress, the use of certain medications, hormone deficiency or excessive hormone production and autoimmune conditions. Losing your hair can seriously undermine your self-image. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, 30 million women in the USA experience hair loss, compared with about 50 million men. Each year, millions of people consult their doctors or pharmacists for the magic cure to help regrow hair. But hair growth chemicals don’t always work as well as some natural remedies. Here, some legendary natural home remedies for hair loss.

1. Balance your life to avoid hair loss. Prolonged stress can cause hair loss. Excessive physical or emotional stress, whether precipitated by drastic life changes, including pregnancy, illness or surgery, can trigger hair loss. Overcome the negative effects of stress with daily aerobic exercise, which lowers stress hormones and normalizes testosterone levels.

2. Aromatherapy is another safe and effective way to reverse the effects of hair loss. There were studies that have been conducted which showed aromatherapy can improve hair growth. Some of the essential oils that could be massaged into the scalp would include thyme, lavender, rosemary and cedarwood as well as jojoba and grapeseed.

3. Saw palmetto has been used to treat hair loss for decades. It is the primary active ingredient found in the vast majority of natural hair loss remedies and can help hair regrow naturally. Stinging nettle, one of the most common herbs used in traditional folk medicine, is said to help regrow hair naturally.

4. Exercise. Probably the most overlooked and under promoted way to stimulate new hair growth is to simply exercise. When you exercise you get the blood flowing throughout your entire body including the scalp. It is believed that increased blood flow to the scalp and hair follicles will increase the ability to stimulate new hair growth.

5. Adequate daily amounts of B-vitamins, especially biotin, are important to hair growth. A daily multivitamin is inexpensive health insurance. Adequate amounts of healthy oils containing Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids are also essential for healthy hair. Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are abundant in fish such as salmon and tuna. Vegetarians can add flax and olive oils to boost Omega-3 and Omega-6 levels and help keep the skin and scalp healthy. This is one of the best hair loss treatment.

6. Mix 2 tablespoons of amla (Indian gooseberry), reetha (from the soapnut tree), and shikakai, which comes from a shrub native to India. Add egg and form a paste. Apply on scalp and massage throughout hair. Let sit for 25 to 30 minutes, then rinse and cleanse with a mild shampoo. Try this 3 times per week for one month to help hair regrow naturally.

7. Some foods that you could add tour daily diet would be eggs, milk, ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, whey protein, yogurt, onions, garlic, broccoli, red peppers, Brussels sprouts, granola, oats and wheat germ. These have high levels of amino acids including cystine, methionine, cysteine, arginine and lysine.
